Career Goals
As I said in my "About Me," page, my goal is to first earn my bachelor’s degree at UF and then pursue a Masters in Library and Information Sciences, specializing in archival studies. I love all kinds of history, but especially American history. History is a story. If I ask each of you about something in your past, you would be telling me a story. That's what makes each one of us so valued in who we are and where we came from.
So, what would be a dream job for me? One is the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. This house was built between 1889 and 1895. It opened on Christmas Day 1895. It was built during the height of the Gilded Age. It is the largest privately owned house in America. I would love to work for the archivist of the house.
The other dream job would be to work in the Lincoln Library and Museum in Springfield, Illinois. This is considered the busiest of all presidential libraries. and rightfully so. This is a very fluid museum when it comes to displays and bringing out archives for people to enjoy and learn.
So that's just a very small part of my goals and desires. They might change, but it is something that I can strive for.
